Regular filtration is an important part of managing frying oil in a commercial kitchen. It removes crumbs, batter and carbonised debris that accumulate during frying, helping to maintain oil quality and reduce unnecessary oil changes.
But what if your fryer doesn't have built-in filtration?
Many commercial kitchens operate perfectly good standalone fryers with no integrated filtration system. Replacing them simply to gain built-in filtration is unlikely to make financial sense, while larger external filtration machines may be unnecessary for kitchens handling relatively small quantities of oil. A compact frying oil filter provides another option.
A Compact Solution for Existing Fryers
The FILPRO Compact Frying Oil Filter is designed for commercial kitchens that need a straightforward way to filter smaller quantities of frying oil. Compact enough to sit on a worktop, FILPRO can be used with existing commercial frying equipment and filters up to 10 litres of oil.
For larger fryers, the FILPRO PLUS increases the capacity to 25 litres. This makes the system particularly suitable for restaurants, pubs, cafés, smaller takeaways and other commercial kitchens where a full-size filtration machine may be unnecessary.
More Than Removing Crumbs
Mechanical filtration removes suspended particles such as food debris and carbon from frying oil, but FILPRO can also be used with adsorbent filtration products such as Magnesol.
Magnesol adsorbs dissolved impurities and degradation products that ordinary mechanical filtration cannot remove. The Magnesol and the impurities it has captured are then removed during filtration. This allows kitchens to combine physical filtration and oil treatment as part of the same regular oil management routine.
Is a Compact Oil Filter Worth the Investment?
The answer depends on how much frying oil you use, how frequently you replace it and how you currently filter it. Frying oil is an ongoing expense. If inadequate filtration means oil is being discarded earlier than necessary, improving the filtration process can reduce oil consumption over time.
For kitchens using smaller standalone fryers without integrated filtration, FILPRO provides a practical alternative to replacing existing equipment or investing in a much larger filtration system. The standard FILPRO filters up to 10 litres, while FILPRO PLUS handles up to 25 litres.
